Facing and Dealing with the Matrix: Finding Your Divine Compass
“My beloved brothers and sisters, have you ever felt that there must be something more to life than just the 9-to-5 grind?”
We live in a system where the “1%” holds more wealth than the rest of the population combined. We are told to chase money, careers, and temporary status. But what happens if the money goes? Does that mean your purpose is gone? Absolutely not!
When we don’t worship the Creator, we end up worshipping the creation. To truly begin facing and dealing with the matrix we find ourselves in, you must transcend these temporary attachments and reconnect with the One who brought you into existence.
The Logic of Creation: The Watch in the Desert
Imagine walking through a barren desert and finding a sophisticated watch. You see the glass, the gears, and the precision. Would you ever believe that the wind and the sand combined over millions of years to create that watch by “random chance”?
Logic tells us that where there is design, there is a Designer. The universe, with its perfect balance and the precise tilt of the Earth, is far more complex than any watch. Simple logic dictates that anything with a beginning must have a cause.
“And it is He who created the heavens and the earth in truth…”
The Divine Manual: Why the Quran?
Allah (SWT), our Creator, sent the Quran as our manual for facing and dealing with life’s trials. It is a miracle that has remained unchanged for over 1,400 years.
- Scientific Accuracy: Mentioning the expansion of the universe (51:47) and the origin of life in water (21:30) long before modern science.
- Historical Preservation: Unlike other scriptures, the Quran has been preserved word-for-word in its original Arabic.
- Linguistic Beauty: Revealed to an unlettered Prophet (peace be upon him), yet it remains the pinnacle of Arabic eloquence.
Correcting the Narrative: Who is Jesus?
There is often confusion about Prophet Isa (Jesus). In Islam, we honor him as a noble human Messenger of God, he is not god nor son of god. We maintain the purity of Monotheism.
Some Christians claim that “Jesus is God” or part of a trinity – that is, he is the incarnation of God on earth and that God took on a human form. However, according to the Bible, Jesus was born, ate, slept, prayed and had limited knowledge – all attributes not befitting God. God has attributes of perfection whereas Man is the opposite. So how can anything be two complete opposites both at the same time? This is not rational.
However, some may ask, “If God can do anything, why can’t he become a man?” By definition, God does not do ungodly acts, so if God became man and took on human attributes, he would, necessarily, no longer be God.
Furthermore, the Bible contains many verses in which Jesus speaks and behaves as if God is a separate being to himself. For example, Jesus “fell on his face and prayed” [Matthew 26:39]. If Jesus was God, then would a God fall on his face and pray? And, who would he be praying to?
Some Christians claim that “Jesus is the Son of God.” We should ask ourselves, what does this actually mean? Surely God is far removed from having a physical and literal son. Rather, we find that the term “Son of God” is symbolically used in the earliest biblical languages for a “righteous person”. It is used throughout the Old Testament for many righteous people such as David, Solomon and Israel – not exclusively for Jesus, “…Israel is my firstborn son,” (Exodus 4:22) is one such example.
The Islamic belief about Jesus explains who the real Jesus was, whilst maintaining the pure belief about God and His complete Greatness, Uniqueness and Perfection. Jesus was as an honourable Prophet sent by God to call to the worship of God alone.
Does it fit the majesty of God to have human needs like eating or sleeping? The Quran clarifies his nature beautifully:
“It is not befitting for Allah to take a son; He is perfect and flawless!”
(Quran 19:35)
